The Truth About Alert Management

This is the first of a few updates we're rolling this week, stay tuned!

Hi there! Vladimir from Keep here. For those who don't know us, Keep is a platform that helps teams manage their alerts, events, and incidents through organization, categorization, prioritization, and automation.

Here's something that might surprise you: we often tell potential customers that they don't need an AIOps solution. Yes, you read that right. While Keep has helped many teams transform their alert management, we've learned that not every challenge requires a sophisticated AIOps platform.

During customer conversations, we frequently meet teams who sense "something isn't quite right" with their alert management process. They discover our highly-starred GitHub repo and naturally think, "This must be the solution!" However, sometimes, in our initial calls, we must be honest and say, "While it's great to meet you, we don't think Keep is the right solution for your specific needs."

Introducing Provider Health: Know Where You Stand

This experience led us to develop our new "Provider Health" feature. It's designed to answer one fundamental question: "Do you have problems with your alerts AIOps could help with?"

Provider Health currently supports analysis across major monitoring platforms:

  1. DataDog
  2. Grafana
  3. CloudWatch
  4. PagerDuty
  5. GCP Monitoring
  6. Prometheus
  7. Incident.IO
  8. OpsGenie

The feature performs a comprehensive analysis of your alert systems, examining:

Are your alerts actionable?

KeepAI summarizes the clarity of your alerts and calculates median score.

Are your alerts spammy?

Keep calculates rate and frequency of similar alerts in your system to detect noise and spam.

How effective are your alert rules?

By matching your alerts to different rules, Keep detects unused ones, which often can be a sign of configuration problems.

What’s the percentage of your topology covered with alerts?

In multi-services infrastructure we often can forget to cover some services with effective alerting. Keep analyses current alerts across the services in your system and searches for lost ones.

Just give it a try

The nice thing about Keep HealthCheck is that you don't even need to create an account on our platform. This feature is free and open so you can use it without any obligations. Just try here: https://platform.keephq.dev/health !
